Birthday cards

In the old days, only members of the royal family celebrated birthdays. Apparently, our ancestors believed that only kings could afford to have a special day in the calendar just for themselves! Fortunately, now we can all take better care of ourselves and our loved ones. It's as if over the centuries, each of us became a prince or princess in our own fairy tale! In our opinion, absolutely everyone deserves to be treated like a king and receive at least birthday cards as a gift. And they can be given not only on this one day.

Do you know the brilliant Yuri Knorozov? Yes, the same one who deciphered the Mayan script. According to the documents, he was born on November 19. But for some reason he insisted that it happened on August 31. It turned out that it did not cause him any special problems, and his friends simply got used to wishing him twice a year!

But why only twice? Humpty Dumpty in Alice Through the Looking Glass approached this issue most sensibly:

"You don't know what you're talking about!" cried Humpty Dumpty. "How many days are there in a year?"

"Three hundred and sixty-five," said Alice.

"And how many birthdays do you have in a year?"

"One."

"And if you subtract one from three hundred and sixty-five, how many are left?"

"Three hundred and sixty-four, of course."

What can you give a loved one who is important to you for their birthday? First, think about how special this day is and how much this person means to you. An expensive gift is not always the best solution. Sometimes you can give something even more valuable. Words? Why not? After all, they are the ones that stay in your memory long after the equipment is destroyed and the nut-filled candies are gone. Time spent together? Even better!

You can also give your favorite person a story. A story about them. Small stories. Something in C6 format (for the discerning: it's one third of a notebook page). Birthday postcards are a great way to give someone close a gift that is just for them. And about them.
